FERRO
FERRO
LARGE DIAPHRAGM CONDENSER MICROPHONE
OLD SCHOOL JFET + TRANSFORMER
OVERVIEW
Ferro is engineered to handle high-SPL sources, serving as the large-diaphragm alternative to conventional dynamic close-microphones on drums, bass, guitars, and powerful vocals.
Ferro takes a minimalist approach, designed to elevate the idea of close-miking to a higher level, imparting a distinctive punch and character to the recorded sound sources. At its core it features a fusion of the great transistor classics paired with an iron-core output transformer and a specially tuned 32mm center-terminated capsule.
The omnidirectional response is obtained mechanically, further decreasing the sensitivity of the microphone and attenuating the proximity effect.
The hexagonal mesh guarantees the highest possible ratio between open surface and structural seal to minimize phase interference caused by reflections inside the capsule housing.
